Apple released an update to the Logic Pro audio production software this week in an effort to improve stability and increase functionality. The update, Logic Pro 9.0.2, is available for download from Apple’s support page right now, so it’s worth your time to click over and get it. This update will work with Logic Pro running on Mac OS X 10.5.8 or higher.
Logic Pro is part of Apple’s Logic Studio suite of media software and provides professional audio editing and production features for the Mac. It’s the preferred audio production software for many Mac lovers. Logic Pro can help with studio or stage productions with a wide array of recording, mixing and editing features. Logic Pro also makes it possible to import projects from other users and share them when you’ve finished your edits.
The update to Logic Pro fixes some reported bugs and a few problems that made the program unstable and prone to crashing. It also improves the input/output and TDM plugins, making it possible to do more with sound files. Users report the update makes the replace mode work correctly when punch recording as well as the “paste at original position” function, both of which were a bit buggy in previous versions.
Additional functionality includes the ability to snap align Flex Markers to MIDI notes in the Arrange window and use the auto-map feature with the Novation MIDI controllers while running plugins.
Of course, the biggest improvement for users will be the fact that the program won’t crash at random points in a project.
If Logic Pro isn’t what you want , there are plenty more audio production programs out there that might suit your needs. Check out the audio production software review to see the competition and find out who ranks highest.
